Johan Bergenas is a research associate with the Managing Across Boundaries Program at the Stimson Center in Washington, DC. Prior to joining the Center he worked for the Monterey Institute James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies and before then at Oxfam America. He has also been a reporter and freelance journalist for numerous publications. Bergenas focuses on a variety of transnational security threats, nonproliferation, and development issues, as well as private and public sector approaches to combat these challenges. He has lived in the United States since 2001 and holds a honors MA degree from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and an honors BA degree from the University of Iowa.
