Blix & Associates provides you with the latest speeches, presentations and articles by Dr. Hans Blix, and other diplomats and academics associated with the Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission.

Dr. Hans Blix, Director-General Emeritus of the IAEA and the Executive Chairman of the UN Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC) for Iraq between 2000 and 2003, has chaired the Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission since it was established in 2004.  The Commission held its final meeting in Washington DC on 30 April 2009 to refocus attention on the comprehensive recommendations of its 2006 Report, Weapons of Terror: Freeing the World of Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Arms and in particular on those relating to nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament.

By adopting a final Declaration, the Commission marked the conclusion of its collective work on 1 May 2009, but its members remain active and ready to join others in a new forceful wave to revive and achieve global disarmament.  The  WMD Commission’s website (www.wmdcommission.org) was closed down on 28 February 2011.

This site has been set up with the purpose of maintaining the WMD Commission’s publications and to make the latest presentations and articles by, among others, Dr. Hans Blix easily accessible.  The Report Weapons of Terror, including its seven translations and the 2009 Declaration can be found on this site.   Recent speeches and presentations by Dr. Blix, and by other contributors associated with the WMDC, including Ambassadors Jayantha Dhanapala and Henrik Salander, are also available on the site.
